Unclear visa and work permit language
A contract should explain whether the school sponsors the visa or work permit, what documents are needed, and who pays related fees. Be cautious when a school says the process will be handled later but cannot explain the legal pathway in writing.
Hidden deductions and vague pay terms
Look for details on gross versus net salary, tax, social insurance, deposit deductions, unpaid training, late payment rules, and holiday pay. If the contract mentions penalties, make sure they are specific, reasonable, and legally appropriate.
Role mismatch
The title, subject, age group, teaching hours, office hours, and campus should match what was discussed during hiring. If the employer can change your location, schedule, or duties at any time, ask for limits before signing.
